Town Hall Meeting, this Monday, September 28.

The City of Kamloops is set to host the first in a series of upcoming public meetings about the proposed KGHM Ajax Mine.  We hope you will be there with your suggestions!

From Kamloops This Week, Sept 17, 2015: “The city is planning an independent review of the mine’s application for environmental review, which will cover the mine’s effects on the environment and public health, among other concerns. It is looking for public feedback on what areas its consultant, SLR Consulting, should tackle.

The meeting will run from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Monday, September 28, at the Coast Kamloops Hotel and Convention Centre, 1250 Rogers Way in Aberdeen.

It will begin with a presentation from city staff on what questions the city already plans to ask SLR Consulting, followed by an open mic session in which residents will have three minutes each to make suggestions.

The city will also take 500-word written submissions on its website, kamloops.ca, from Tuesday, September 29 to Friday, October 2.”
