Posted by Stop Ajax Mine on July 11th, 2017 11:08am

This is an invitation from the Stk’emlúpsemc te Secwepemc Nation to those who wish to stand in solidarity with the decision NOT to go forward with the KGHM Ajax Open-Pit mine

Saturday April 1 from 10:00 am- noon at the Irving K. Barber Center at TRU.
** We welcome all to come early to participate in a smudge ceremony at 9:30 am.
Please note that media will be invited to witness the meeting from 11 am- noon

As stewards of the land in question, we, the Stk’emlúpsemc te Secwepemc (“SSN”), have publicly declared that the SSN does not give its free, prior and informed consent to the development of the lands and resources at Pípsell for the purposes of the Ajax Mine Project.

On behalf of the Stk’emlúpsemc te Secwepemc, it is our distinct honour to engage with all those who stand in solidarity with our decision to meet with us as we exchange information and knowledge.

Our decision to preserve and sustain Pípsell is for the long-term benefit of all Canadians, ensuring the future enjoyment of this special place serves to further reconciliation, so that we all may be great and good.

If you are on Facebook, please post the following event and ask your friends to share. We need to fill the Barber Centre.
Please forward this email as well to your friends, and then on Saturday bring your friends, neighbours, kids…in short anyone who values clean air and clean water to the TRU Irving K Barber Centre.
