If you attended last night’s presentations on air, water, and soil, with their jaw-dropping revelations on deficiencies in the KGHM Ajax Application, you will probably want to rant to someone!  A good place to start is to send in a public comment to the EAO website, at www.eao.gov.bc.ca . You have until Monday, April 11, to make a submission.

Have you heard of Code Blue? You can use social media to share your views, and encourage others to send in a public comment to the EAO - - -

Kamloops Group Calls 'Code Blue' on Proposed Mine

An organization has popped up on social media called Kamloops Code Blue and it is urging residents to speak up about the proposed Ajax mine.

The group, led by resident Richard Boyce, who was the president of the United Steelworkers in Kamloops, includes a video on Boyce’s opinion of the proposed mine and the information released by the parent company KGHM.

The video was posted last week and has already garnered more than 6,400 views and has had hundreds of shares on Facebook.

“They have put together 18,000 pages of print in order to convince you. Dare to challenge anything in those 18,000 pages, and, well, you’re fear mongering,” said Boyce.

Boyce says it is time for a ‘code blue’ as the mine will threaten the city, residents, and families in the area.

“After working 42 years in the mining industry, I’m not buying any of it,” said Boyce in the video.

Many who have commented on the video agree with Boyce’s comments and the awareness he is bringing to the subject, while others challenge his comments and facts.
